Each day for four years we began our days at Grant High School sitting across from each other, visiting with each other most quietly as home room activities unfolded. Dan always gave me hope for the day ahead, a gentle reminder of his concern for those around him. Five years ago at our 55th Reunion, Dan remembered our time together by saying, "Ah, a fellow artist!" when he saw my beard as white as his, with a twinkle in his eye. Blessed be!

Dan, miss you and our conversations. Have lots of your art around our home. Quite an experience cleaning up your workshop and saving art. Will never forget that day. Just found slides I took of cabins at Wauna Lake where you remodeled several older homes. Also found photos of the McDermott house in Wilsonville. Keep on sketching Dan.

Dan was a sweet man. I remember many times having a booth close to him @ Ceramic Showcase. Such a good Folk potter. I will miss his spirit!
