Mr. Dan Fulbright

Mr. Charles Daniel "Dan" Fulbright, age 78, of Toccoa, left this life and entered into eternal life on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at his home. Born April 23, 1940 in Toccoa, he was a son of the late Bert and Kate Smith Fulbright. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and the Earl Rochester Small Group. Dan was employed with Tabor Motor Company as the Parts Manager for over 50 years. He was a member of the Toccoa Elks Lodge and was past Exhaulted Ruler, member and Past President of the Toccoa Lions Club, member Number 43, STP Racing, Richard Petty's Pit Crew, avid roller skating with skating partner Debbie Jackson, avid square and line dancing, and was a role model for the youth via sports. He enjoyed traveling with close friends and Hall of Famer, Gene Watson. Dan was a former member of the Georgia National Guard. Dan and his bride of 56 years, Ophelia have one daughter and son-in-law Beth Rider and Leon; three grandchildren, Clayton Rider and Haley of Toccoa, Lyndsay Batchelor and Paul of Athens and Evan Rider of Toccoa; 4 great-grandchildren, Kaden Rider, Tenley Rider, Charlee Kate Batchelor, and Sophia Jayne Batchelor who called him Gramps; sister and brother-in-law, Edith Dalrymple and Trigg; brother-in-law, Melvin Addison; sisters-in-law, Euline Johnson, Carolyn Addison, and Edith Addison; and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves his trusty companion Kooper. He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy Fulbright and Shirley. Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Ebenezer Baptist Church with the Rev. Andy Childs and the Rev. Jerrell Beatty officiating. Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jerry Chitwood officiating at the graveside service. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Clayton Rider, Evan Rider, Paul Batchelor, Steve Fulbright, Blake Fulbright, Chase Fulbright, Matt Dalrymple, Billy Mote, Eddie Addison; and Stacy Jackson. Kaden Rider and Cason Johnson will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 5pm – 8pm Wednesday, April 25, 2018.
