Dan Charles Grounds

We also had the kind experience of having Dan Grounds as our teacher and mentor at Eola High School. He was the girls high school basketball coach and taught us strategies to keep a low scoring game against Talpa which was the talk of the town! What a wonderful man.

We can always remember Mr. Grounds' telephone call to ask us to make our son's dog, Queenie, stay home instead of following him to school and waiting for him because other kids wanted to bring their dogs to school. He was very understanding and such a fair leader at GC Elementary. Our prayers are with his family during this time.

Mr. Grounds was my principal at Grape Creek. As a junior high student, I had the opportunity to experience his stern, but kind guidance and wisdom, lol. He was patient, and calm in dealing with his students. I had great respect for Mr. Grounds, and extend my most sincere condolences to his family.

So sorry to hear about one of my favorite teachers.
I'll always remember him as Mr. Grounds, a very kind and patient teacher. He taught me in 6th grade at Eola back in the 60's. Rest in peace Mr. Grounds.
