Not sure what to say?

I still think about what a great mentor he was to me and I still tell stories about my great experiences with him to my patients. I will always cherish my time with him and miss his presence in our lives. I no longer teach but I am surely a better doctor for his teaching to me!

I still tell Dr Mackey stories to my patients all the time. He will always be remembered by me as such a great influence on my career. I strive daily to have his positive attitude and pleasant demeanor. I miss him greatly. Atlanta Dermatology as a whole, as well as many dermatologists that scattered around the country which he helped train, were all made better by Dr Mackey.

As noted by colleagues, Dr. Mackey was a great
teacher, mentor, and friend to all affiliated with the Emory dermatology training program. He
had a positive and pragmatic outlook in both his personal and professional life. His quest for new
experiences and self-enlightenment was amazing, as was his medical assistance to hospitals in the Middle East. He will be sorely missed in our community.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Dr. Mackey. He was a favorite at Grady Hospital clinic. He will be missed.

Dr Mackey was a great Dermatologist, an amazing educator, and a true mentor. I would not be where I am today if not for his teaching and encouragement. He lived a life that demonstrated you can do anything you set your mind to accomplish. I am deeply saddened at his passing and I will sincerely miss him.

So sorry to hear of this. Dr. Mackey taught me so much as a resident. I use the wisdom he shared with me every day in practice, but he taught me more than just medicine. He shared a boundless curiosity and love of life with everyone who was lucky enough to know him. Rest in peace.
