Not sure what to say?

I am a CPA in Lafayette, Indiana. I first met Dan when he was transferred to West Lafayette, Indiana. Since then probably over 200 State Farm people have utilized my tax services from junior executives. a future vice-president or two and at least one janitor, Almost all can be traced back either directly or indirectly to Dan. Thank you Dan.

I met Dan in 1970 in Villa Park, IL when I started with State Farm. I was always impressed by his presence and no nonsense demeanor. You could tell he had been in the military because of his "take charge" attitude. We both ended up in Bloomington and I would occasionally see him at the gym and the annual retiree anniversary celebrations. He always greeted me with a warm smile. Dan was an asset to State Farm and the community. Condolences to the family.

I first met Dan when I was a claim rep in the Indiana Regional Office in 1979. Although he was the manager of a different division than I was in we all knew and respected Dan. I first worked "with" him when I was part of Don Sebade´s unit in Southern California but requested authority to settle cases from Dan who had become a claim consultant at Corporate Headquarters. Eventually I too ended up in Bloomington and spent several years trying to "solve" California´s claim problems with Dan. He...

Dan and his family have been friends of ours since we met in West Lafayette, Indiana. Dan always had an easy smile and laughter with a sense of humor that could brighten your day. One of my fondest memories was Dan and Lynne's party at their home after a Purdue vs. Notre Dame game. The Reidys were kind enough to let me bring my parents, and my Dad was in his glory talking sports and Chicago. Thank you, Dan, for bringing levity to our world. You will be missed.

It's hard to believe we've lost such a precious friend and colleague. My first contact with Dan, was when he was reviewing insurance claims for another supervisor. We all said, "Who is this guy?". Well, Dan was the guy who wanted it done right the first time! After retiring from State Farm we both would meet to check how his SOX were doing. We are both veterans and Dan was especially hoping to take the Veterans flight to Washington, DC. I played golf with Dan a few times, but I was a...

My condolences to Dan´s family during this difficult time. I had the privilege of meeting Dan through work about 40 years ago, crossed paths with him often and finally worked with him closely during the last several years of his career. More recently, I had the pleasure of joining him at his Wednesday breakfasts on occasion. Dan was knowledgable, kind, and always willing to help others. He will certainly be missed. Rest in peace Dan.

My father (Manuel Mendoza) worked with Dan in General Claims and thought highly of him. Working with people like Dan and Bill Roe made my father´s time at SF very rewarding. It sounds like Dan had a long and enjoyed retirement. I wish his family the best during this difficult time.

Dan and I were great friends and traveling companions for years on trips to the California regions. There were always interesting experiences and good times each trip. It was great to travel with him as well as working with him here in Bloomington.

I worked with Dan for several years when I was a Section Manager in Southern California. Dan was always attentive to our issues and always ready with a positive comment. I enjoyed working with him and I appreciated his sense of humor. My condolences to his family during this difficult time. May he rest in peace.
