To the Carr and Spencer Families:

I was so saddened to hear only recently of your tragic loss of Dana. I followed his recovery from his accident on his blog and often wondered how he was doing. God bless your family, may your fondest memories of him always be the light that brightens your darkest moments.

Dear Rick and Linda and family---I am so sad to hear of your tragic loss of adorable Dana. I remember him as a very small child here in Charlotte and enjoyed hearing all the wonderful stories of him during his growing up days. He certainly became an incredible man of strength and character, much due to the wonderful family who surrounded him. I'm certain that everyone who knew him was a better person as a result. Although I'm far away in Charlotte, he and each of you are in my heart and I...

Dear Rick, Linda, Jessie, Courtney and Jann,

As I already told Jann , being a biker I was very inspired by Dana's cross country bike trip in 2005. He was a very accomplished young man. I am very sorry for your terrible loss, but I hope his life will serve as an inspiration to you and all who knew him.

Sincerely,
Doug Bradford Smith (Jann's friend)

Courtney and family:
I just learned of Dana's passing and wanted to let you know how deeply sorry all of us on the second floor are for your loss. Dana overcame unbelievable challenges after his accident, and he was a wonderful inspiration to other patients on the floor (and nurses, too.) Although we hated the reason why Dana came to us at Shepherd, we were truly fortunate to get to know this remarkable man. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

To Jessica and the whole family,

My thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Dana will be missed.
