From the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s tributes to those who died in the Oct. 1, 2017 music festival shooting:
A longtime San Bernardino County government employee is among those killed in the attack on the Route 91 Harvest country music festival Sunday.
Dana Gardner, 52, was a deputy recorder and worked for the county for 26 years, county spokesman David Wert said.
Gardner’s boss, Bob Dutton, said she will be missed.

I thought it was very unfortunate that this fine person died too young in Vegas because of a heinous act. Dana deserved better. Sending my sincere condolences to her children and co-workers in San Bernardino, CA.

Dana was one of the hardest working people I ever met at the County. I had the privilege of working with her at the Recorder's Office. I was shocked to learn of her passing in this horrific attack. My thoughts and prayers go out for Dana, her children, family, friends, and coworkers at the County of San Bernardino. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
