DANA A. HAMEL

I met Dana Hamel when I was director of the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program, later named the Hamel Center for Undergraduate Research thanks to his most generous endowment established to support undergraduates to collaborate with faculty members. His endowment was absolutely instrumental to the growth of the program and enabled the Center to support many more students. Through the many years of working together as directors at the UNH Foundation, I cherished his friendship, his sound judgment and unflagging great sense of humor. His sensible advice and great generosity propelled the Foundation through its early years of growth and made it what it is today. UNH owes him the most incredible debt of gratitude.

Dear Hamel Family, Please accept our heartfelt condolences upon Dana´s passing. Nampa was truly a one of a kind soul. The second I met him, we had an instant connection. Through talking about art, living in Boston, and of course, when I was going to grab us a pair of Celtics tickets from the firm I work for, we always had something to talk about, laugh about. Every time I went up to New Hampshire to spend the weekend with Bradley, we always made time to see his Nampa no matter what the plans were and knowing how close he is with his family is one of the many reasons why...
