Not sure what to say?

Susan and Family,
It has been many months that I have wanted to send a message to you about your loss. Dana was truly an inspiring and gentle leader in the market arena of First Chicago. His insight and influence was vast and his wisdom and analysis of markets and events was uncany. He was so respected by all who had the opportunity to work with and benefit from his work. I am still saddened by his having left this earth too soon but the memories shine bright.

Phyllis Scholl Thomas

Susan, my deepest sympathy on the loss of Dana. He had a great reputation and will be missed.

Susan
I am deeply saddened to learn of Dana's passing. Everyone who knew Dana was enriched by his intellectual depth, his professional excellence, and his genuine personal charm. I grieve with all who knew Dana but I also can rejoice in knowing that in the time granted him, he made a genuine difference in so many lives.

Dana was that rare economist that also knew English. During our tenure together at First Chicago and Bank One, he always found time to discuss the economy and our business whenever I dropped by his office. As many others have posted here, we lost a great one.

Dear Susan and family,
I remember Dana as the wise and patient teacher who took a fresh MBA under his wing and taught me to be a "Fed Watcher" at First Chicago. The analytical skills he imparted, along with the even more valuable life skills of remaining calm and focused in the eye of the storm, served me well as I moved on to sales and then trading. He was a warm, gentle soul who took the time to mentor a newbie. I have fond memories and great respect for him. Thinking of you all.

Dear Susan and family

I worked with Dana at First Chicago and Bank One and had the greatest respect for him, both professionally and personally. He was truly a great colleague, scholarly, patient and kind, and I present to you my deep condolences.

I would echo many of the wonderful tributes in this guest book. Though I did not know Dana personally, I heard him speak many times and he was always so clear thinking and so willing to not only inform but to educate his audiences. My condolences to his family.

Susan
We have traveled this terrible road together in the past year. You were strong and brave for Dana and supported him with love and grace. You were an example to me. Dana will be terribly missed and my thoughts are with you.

I had the pleasure of working with Dana back in the First Chicago days. He was a consummate professional, and always supportive and full of ideas for all of us. I will always be thankful for his friendship. My condolences go out to all his family.
