Not sure what to say?

Coach Kirk
I played JV football for you back in fall 1962. Even though I did not see much action, I will always remember our practices and your lectures about playing "hard nosed football". You definitely earned my respect, especially when you had to kick a rising football star off the team for smoking and another one for goofing off. You will be sorely missed. Your family is in my prayers always.

Hey Coach, I never played for you but I was always taking pictures on the sidelines at all the Jefferson High basketball games...and football too. You treated me with great respect and took the time to clarify things for me when I didn't understand...I was never a sports genius. I've thought of you often over the years and hope you are still active as I know you could never rest for long without doing something.

Sorry for your lost,he lived a good life. Remember the good times with him.

I was at Maxwell in the late '80s when Coach was there. He coached the prisons 'intramural' b'ball team that played on the Air Force base against the USAF teams. [there was a ex NBA guard and 3 college players doing time then and they did'nt lose a game] He was always a good guy to be around. Hate to hear about this. Condolences to the family.

SO SORRY TO HEAR OF DANA'S DEATH IT WAS A REAL SHOCKER. DANA AND I PLAYED HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL TOGETHER.DANA, DELBERT MCCALASTER AND I WAS AS THICK AS FLEAS ON A DOGS BACK IN THOSE DAYS. THE LAST TIME I SAW DANA WAS AT CONCORD COLLEGE, HE HAD COME TO CONCORD TO PLAY BASKETBALL WHILE I WAS GOING TO CONCORD SCHOOL.I HAVE OFTEN THOUGHT OF HIM THROUGH THE YEARS AND I WILL SADLY MISS HIM

My prayers are with you Mrs. Kirk and your entire family during this time. I met Coach Kirk when I was a little girl at a tribute for Keith and Bobby in West Memphis. I've been a huge Tiger fan since I was a little girl. I will always remember Coach Kirk and all he did for Memphis State and the city of Memphis. God Bless you.

RIP Coach Kirk. I became a true Tiger fan in the early 80's as a teenager, and I have followed them ever since moving away. Because of your hard work as a coach, molded me into a coach. Thank you and may your legacy live forever. Go Tigers Go!!!

Dana will be remembered by most as someone who resurrected Memphis basketball. I will remember him as a great friend. I will miss all of his great stories. RIP my friend.
