Daniel Bernick, on December 22, 2020. Beloved husband of Elizabeth "Libby" Bernick (nee Rhoads). Loving father of Lee, Andrew, and Nina. Dear brother of Reuben and David. Dan was a graduate of Williams College, and received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business. As a long-time partner at The Health Care Group, Dan was proud to work with medical practices and help physicians with their business arrangements as they started or ended their medical careers. Dan served the community as a board member at Congregation Or Shalom and as president of the men's club. Dan was a life-long learner, whether it was teaching himself how to tie flies to catch the elusive brown trout in nearby Valley Creek, taking swimming lessons to improve his endurance, or learning how to speak Hebrew with friends. Dan loved to travel with his wife and family, and could be found at any museum lingering to learn well past the time when all others had moved on to the coffee shop. His squash buddies nick-named him Bulldog for his strong hits against the back wall and tenacious game. A favorite activity was reading on the back patio, with a cup of wicked strong coffee and his beloved dog basking in the sun beside him. Even through his illness, he shared his quiet strength and kind spirited humor with those around him. His memory will be a blessing to all who knew him. Graveside services will be private. Contributions in his memory may be made to Congregation Or Shalom, 835 Darby-Paoli Road, Berwyn, PA 19312 or the Tredyffrin Public Library, 582 Upper Gulph Road, Strafford, PA 19087.
I will remember his kindness and generosity always. He is greatly missed!

Dan and I were friends at Central School and while we grew apart after that, I will always cherish my early Glencoe friends.

I met Dan through his partner Mark. We, and a few other professional friends have a tradition of having supper the final evening of the conferences we present at. Dan's soft-spoken nature and wry sense of humor were the perfect foil for the fun-loving, gentle jousting we would inevitably do, as a way of letting off steam after a long weekend of work. During these suppers I also learned about Dan's dedication to God and his service to the Congregation. It was obvious that he had a strong...

I just learnt of Dan's passing today. I am so sorry to hear the news, he was a lovely person. The world lost someone special. We were very good friends at Williams and for a number of years after before parenting took over our lives . I relate to all the lines in his obituary and his friends and colleagues personal memories of him. He was kind, hard working, quiet and very loyal. He took great pride in his squash game and I recall he wanted to play squash for the USA in the Olympics. In...

It was a great day in October 1999 when the Bernicks moved onto our street a few months after we did. Our kids played together for years and our youngest two were born just days apart. On one memorable afternoon, Dan, my husband Bob and Pete Klinges moved a wooden playhouse across the street into the Bernicks' backyard. Dan's great sense of was certainly on display that day. Dan was kind and gentle and always had time to exchange a pleasant word when walking his beloved dog. We were...

I want to express my condolences to Dan’s family and friends. I am deeply saddened at Dan’s passing. I’ve known Dan professionally for almost twenty years and only met with him in person one time. We had many phone conversations regarding my medical practice but we always shared updates on our lives and interests. I was very fond of him and can only imagine the feelings of those closest to him in life. He was immanently likable. A truly good man. I will miss him. You are all in my...

I have know Dan since 2002. I was in the process of joining a plastic surgery practice and needed help in negotiating my contract. A colleague gave me Dan’s name. Since then, he has been my point person to turn to in navigating private practice. It was with great sorrow that I learned of his passing. I send my heartfelt condolences to his family. He will truly be missed.
