Dan and I were friends at Central School and while we grew apart after that, I will always cherish my early Glencoe friends.

I met Dan through his partner Mark. We, and a few other professional friends have a tradition of having supper the final evening of the conferences we present at. Dan's soft-spoken nature and wry sense of humor were the perfect foil for the fun-loving, gentle jousting we would inevitably do, as a way of letting off steam after a long weekend of work. I just learnt of Dan's passing today. I am so sorry to hear the news, he was a lovely person. The world lost someone special. We were very good friends at Williams and for a number of years after before parenting took over our lives . It was a great day in October 1999 when the Bernicks moved onto our street a few months after we did. Our kids played together for years and our youngest two were born just days apart. I want to express my condolences to Dan’s family and friends. I am deeply saddened at Dan’s passing. I’ve known Dan professionally for almost twenty years and only met with him in person one time. We had many phone conversations regarding my medical practice but we always shared updates on our lives and interests. I have know Dan since 2002. I was in the process of joining a plastic surgery practice and needed help in negotiating my contract. A colleague gave me Dan’s name. Since then, he has been my point person to turn to in navigating private practice. It was with great sorrow that I learned of his passing. I send my heartfelt condolences to his family. He will truly be missed.
