Peppler Funeral Home - Allentown Obituary

Daniel Abate, 82, of Freehold, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015 at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold. Born in Millstone Twp., he was a resident of Ewing for many years prior to moving to Freehold. A US Army veteran, Daniel earned the rank of Sergeant during his 14 years of service. He retired from General Motors after more than 50 years of employment. He was a 52 year member of the B.P.O.E. Trenton Elks # 105 and enjoyed spending time at the horse track and casinos.

Son of the late Gaetano and Anna Marie Abbate, he was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Florence D. Abate and his siblings, Albert, Joseph and Benedict Abate and Marie Hooper. Daniel is survived by his children, Joann Rosa, Danny Abate, Jr., Debbie Godown and Tina McNellis; a step-daughter, Janice Chisano; two brothers, Lawrence and Charles Abate, 9 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12noon on Saturday, December 12th at St. John's Church, 1282 Yardville Rd, Allentown. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 6-8pm at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St. Allentown.
