Not sure what to say?

Once I remember a co worker slamming down her phone at SSC and yelling "Dan IS the MAN". She had taken another order for SSShoring and it was BIG.
I worked in an office with three younger women and all 3 were familiar with
Dan. All three also thought of him as the MOST. Who is this guy? None of us had met him. Obviously a Midwestern, yet at a time when nothing else was going on in those States. Still the ladies where excited whenever he calls.........Decided I would like to...

Daniel J. Altepeter was a mentor to me. In my 2 years in excavation protection, I found him the most valuable resource in not just describing the perils underground workers faced but putting it into human terms that meant to me and many others we were on the right...

Saddened to read about Dan's passing. Condolences to Gail and family...

That is a great picture of Dan. All who knew Dan enjoyed his jokes and love of life. He was a great friend to many people and will be dearly missed. May Gail, his children and grandchildren and all of his friends find comfort in the fond memories that we all shared with him. Rest in Peace, classmate! Jerry and Jude Ann Synesael

Our condolences. Dan touched our lives through soap box derby. He was a great advocate for the race and a true inspiration to the kids involved. Our son went to Lima, OH in 2003. He will be sadly missed.
