Not sure what to say?

About two weeks after I wrote my first note in Dan´s memory, I lost one of my own sons, Drew aged 38. How was I to know? I consider the loss of Dan and Drew probably the two greatest losses in my life to date behind the loss of my parents. I think about Dan and Drew every day. I pray for them and many others and talk to them in my prayers. I still, almost two years later, still shake my head in disbelief and sadness that they are gone but I feel strength in the Lord´s promise that he has...

Dan was my lifelong best friend. After watching Cool Hand Luke in our really early years we began calling each other Boss. We teased each other forever after about who was Boss 1 and Boss 2! He was my Best Man when I got married. He taught me a lot about how to treat others and the joys of living in the country. Too many memories to mention here but now theres a huge hole in my heart. When I last saw him in September he knew his time was short but he gave me one last memory - how calm he was...

Dan was so easy to be around. My husband Dan went to high school with him in Peoria (Richwoods) and I first met Dan Altorfer at their class reunions. In recent years, a group of us would go to dinner and it was always a very pleasant and fun time. Our thoughts are with his wife and family. He will certainly be greatly missed. Jo Ann Duncan and husband Dan Duncan, Bloomington, Illinois.

It was a pleasure to know Dan. I would join him on a run off and on from the YMCA when it was in downtown Peoria and we always had a pleasant visit. RIP

We already miss him. My family went to church with him and his family when we were youngsters. A very sweet guy.

RIP Dan, You were a wonderful person. You are now with our Lord and Savior.

I forgot to mention that Dan and Hank are now probably hugging and walking on the streets of gold together. I will see you both again when I get there myself.

No, I am in complete shock right now. I knew Dan for a very long time. He was such a great guy who loved God and his family. I will not be able to attend the visitation since it is in Colorado, but my heart will be with your family. I know I will see Dan in heaven when I get there. So sad and shocking.
