Daniel Herman Arndt

Daniel Herman Arndt Daniel Herman Arndt went to his Heavenly Home on Monday, January 28, 2013. Dan was born on June 15, 1942, in Staunton, Virginia, the son of the late Daniel Marcus and Cora Herman Arndt. He was a member of Hermitage Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro. He served in the United States Air Force from 1963 until 1966. He retired from DuPont in 2001 with 39 years of service. On February 7, 2003, he married Janet Paxton, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Carl Daniel Arndt; two daughters, Heidi Jenkins and Heather Wood; three stepdaughters, Janice Holland and husband, Mark, Glenna Dovel and husband, Craig, Bea Shifflett and husband, Stacey; twelve grandchildren and eight step grandchildren, Kyle and Taylor Botkin, Mason Holland, Derek and Clinton Dovel, Courtney and Cory Cash and Reagan Shifflett. He is also survived by a sister, Vivian McCaskey; four nieces, Barbara Howe, Evelyn Shirley, Elizabeth Crawford and Mary Wingfield. There are also several great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. There will be a Celebration of Life service at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2013, at the Hermitage Presbyterian Church on Hildebrand Church Road in Waynesboro, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hermitage Church Memorial Fund or an organization of your choice.
