Not sure what to say?

I met Dan years ago when I was a young sailor attending my first tech school. My grandpa Irv passed away and I received the Red Cross notice while at school. The school put me on a MAC flight whose final destination was Whidbey Island. My dad had gotten ahold of Dan and asked him to pick me up, which he did. We stopped at his home where I got to briefly meet the rest of his family before he dropped me off at the airport. I can't remember what he talked about, but he made me feel at home...

Hand salute to you sir. Rest in peace shipmate.

My Dad was the best dad ever, while he was off in the military, he and I wrote each other letters . I could always go to him for advice and support if I needed it. I started to learn about the research he did for the Seawolves and WOW, it is amazing what he did not only for himself but for so many others. I was lucky enough to have him walk me down the aisle to my soulmate Sam. He eventually became the greatest grandpa to my kids, Ashley, Kyle, Tyler and Dylan. He loved his baby sister Glory...

My cousin Dan was a humble, kind man who dedicated his life to helping others. While I don't know many details of his involvement (as he never wanted to talk about himself), I know he was involved with the Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos Veterans Memorial at the State Capital in Salt Lake City. He dedicated time to help veterans, as well as their families, navigate the plethora of forms to secure the medical and financial resources they needed. And he provided research and information for the...

Uncle Dan was an amazing influence and great man. So much of our lives was touched by him. We will always love and honor his memory. We were blessed to have shared this journey with him. Love always, Troy & Trisha Hall

Dan was always generous with his time to help in researching family history and making sure the military servicemen were recognized. He contributed many names for our Bluffdale memorial. I appreciate his kindness and generosity! He will be missed.

Toni, I never had a chance to meet Dan. My condolences to you and your family. It has been a long time since we have seen each other. Nancy Mulder formerrly from St. Patrick;s church. I remember you and the few wonderful times we chatted.

My Grandpa was such an awesome person. I only got to know him for a couple of years, but he welcomed me with open arms. I love you grandpa and I know you’re always watching over me

I was introduced to Dan Arnes when I started dating his youngest daughter Susan. He Struck me as a man loving and protective of his family. Dan had a passion for things that he felt were important, his family friends and his country. One thing I feel we had in common is the love of the Eagle and all it means. As a father he has given me the honor and trust of loving his sweet baby girl.
Dan will be missed by so many and has contributed to many lives. He rarely spoke of his service in...
