Not sure what to say?

We think of Captain Dan frequently. Always with great admiration for his leadership aboard USS Haddock SSN-621. His untimely loss was a shock to us all. For the entire family, again, my most sincere condolences.

Captain Dan Bacon was my Commanding Officer on my 1st Submarine the USS Haddock SSN 621 and also presented me with my Qualification Dolphins in 1977, What a great man and CO, the best I have served with during my Career in the US Navy Submarine Force. My deepest Condolences to the Bacon Ohana and Fair Winds and Following Seas to a great Man and Navy Commander. Aloha MMC(SS) Retired Pat Suenaga

We enjoyed working with Dan when he was Committee Chairman for Scripps Ranch Boy Scout Troop #616 in the early eighties. He was a friendly, efficient, and organized leader. May he rest in peace.

The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Dan Bacon is how generous of a man he was. He was supporitve of all of us out at SPAWARSYSCEN, whether we worked for him or not. He was a great man who was equally liked and repected. God Bless.

Dear Dan, Keith, Beth, and the rest of the Bacon family. Please accept my sincere condolences and may God Bless and comfort you all during this very difficult time. Your father and mother were both wonderful people and the world is diminished with their loss.

I lost my wife Beth Giblin on Feb 21, 2005 in a head-on collision and I may understand some of the pain that you are going through.

I was blessed to have served on Haddock with your father as my skipper. I was only...

We send our heartfelt sympathy to the enitre Bacon family. Our lives were enhanced though knowing Dan and Sharron and their sons, Dan and Keith, especially during many fine years while we all participated in the BSA Scripps Ranch Troop 616. We will miss Dan, as we do Sharron, and send them our blessings. The Smith family, Donald, Margit, Mark, Cameron and Julian.

Dan was my CO in HADDOCK -absolute best of the best! I'm Sure I can speak for our entire wardroom from those many years ago in saying that Dan embodied the kind of man and Naval Officer we all wanted to become. I'm deeply saddened to hear of his passing. To the family: how blessed you were to have had him!! -P.B. CDR USN-Ret

I served under Dan on the USS Haddock. He was a great Captain and just a super person. My thoughts and prayers are with the whole Bacon family.
