Daniel Gordon Bartels

Word was unfortunately slow to reach my ears but that didn't make it any less devastating to have found out. My heart aches from this loss and my thoughts and sympathies go out to the family and friends of Mr. Bartels. I first met Mr. Bartels in the summer of 2015 at a STEM summer program. It was there that I shared with him that I'd be starting high school at Collegiate School that upcoming spring semester and funny enough he said he also starting there as a teacher. We instantly connected....

I´ve always admired Dan, but reading about his life gives me that much more admiration. He was a swell guy and it was never not a pleasure to see him, which you can´t say about tons of people, can you? No, you can´t. My most heartfelt sympathy to Kateford, his children, and all the people whose lives he bettered.

So devastated to hear this. Mr. Bartels was such an amazing guy back in my time at Hanover High, and an inspiration for all he taught. My sincerest condolences to his family.
