Not sure what to say?

Dear Mariann, I am so deeply sorry to learn of Dan's passing earlier this year. Though I did not know him well, I learned from my time working with you that the two of you were a deeply committed and loving couple. I know that no amount of time will completely relieve you of your loss but I hope that the passage of time has begun to lessen the sadness of Dan's unexpected death for you and your children. With much love,

Mariann and kids. I'm so sorry for your loss. I know Dan is in Heaven and looking down on you and hoping for the best. I'm so very sorry. Please call me if there is anything I can do to help you. Bob Gordon, Formula Sports, Ketchum, Idaho

Dear Begovich Family
I am so sorry to hearabout Dan's passing I knew Dan at Cal . I was Casselli's girlfriend for a year at school when Dan and John were on the basketball team. We spent a lot of time with" Bego". Dan and I also were friends after the passing of Joe Roth. Joe and I were good buds as were Dan and Joe. I remember Dan kept in touch with Joe's parents as I did for several years after Joe's passing. Dan visited the Roth's several times in Idaho.. He would always call...

Dearest Mariann,
When I heard the news from my dad about Dan's sudden passing, it took my breath away. I did not know Dan well, but always witnessed from a distance and heard from both my mom and dad what a lovely man he was - they took such delight in seeing your beautiful family. I have always appreciated how warm and kind you and Dan have been w/ my parents. Please know how deeply sorry I am as our family keeps you, your sons and all of Dan's loved ones in our heartfelt prayers.

I was so very shocked and saddened to hear of Dan's passing. He was such a nice and decent person. He will really be missed, Westlake just won't be the same. My deepest sympathies to his family.

Dan and I ran against each other for President of the Sigma Nu house at Berkeley. Believe me - the better man won! I remember sitting with him wondering who would win the run off - and I am so glad Dan prevailed and became the man that he did. What a great guy - I am so sorry for the family's loss - this has come as quite a shocker. Dan - rest my friend - we all can only wish to be half the man that you had become.

Mariann, Joseph, Daniel and Neal-
Your tributes at the service on Thursday were beautiful. I know the days ahead will not be easy, but as Father Ryan talked about his mother who said God will take care of you. You have my deepest sympathy and many prayers for Dan and the four of you.

Mills High School basketball is where I learned from Dan the aspects of leadership, friendship and caring. The many memories from hoops, camping, fishing, basketball camp and general teenage foolishness are some of my strongest memories of Dan. I last saw Dan in 2004, at my own father's funeral, where Dan embraced me and gave me that same warm sense of comfort he did as a teenager. I will greatly miss Dan and will keep Dan and the entire family in my thoughts and prayers.

Bego -...

What a tragic surprise and loss! Our hearts are with all 4 of you. May you go forward and carry his spirit with you. And may your boys ski enough runs to make up for those Dan will miss. Jamie, Andrea, Jace and Julia Lieberman, SVSEF
