Daniel Martz Boone

I knew Dan from finding a cave on his property. He was always welcoming and always had something new to add to the discussion. It seemed like everybody in Sugar Valley knew him and respected him. Dan will be missed.

Although I didn't know Dan all that well, when I was in college and doing a lot of caving Dan welcomed us to his property. Encouraged us to dig open the sinkhole near his house to find a cave. He was always welcoming, interested in what was under his property and had both great stories and smoked salmon to share.

This is my Dad. He helped many folks out of a tight spot; including me. He loved Sugar Valley and the home place. Loved to get company and always had time to share a story or two with people. To Dad life was a social event and even simple errands became long because he would always engage people in friendly conversation. I think we've lost a lot of that these days. Hurts real bad to say goodbye but I'll see Dad again some day. I figure he'll want to be a tour guide in Heaven so he can...
