After Daniel and I first met it didn't take long for our personalities to click and we just seemed to hit it off. Our conversations and remarks often caused Denise to roll her eyes and shake her head. We said she just did 'get it.' On our many drives and walks we always came up with something to laugh about. [email protected]) The photo here is from Dan's memorial service. It contains a photo of him as a freshly minted Navy Ensign. Dan is now on his perpetual Navy cruise with fair winds and following seas.

Dan and I served in Newport RI from 1987 to 1989. He was an instructor at the SWOs school and I was an instructor at the Naval Justice School. As he initially did not have space where he lived at the time, the Shop Smith he created so many works of art lived in my basement. Jennie, Denise, Dan, and I spent many hours together and stayed in touch over the years, including visits.

Dee, my heart grieves as you pay a final tribute to your "officer and a gentleman" today. Lots of memories of you and Daniel, from disco lessons to that shower curtain! Everyone would agree that Daniel was a practical, frugal and logical person. Ron can remember the Patriots game they went to and Dan could not comprehend why anyone (including himself and Ron) would spend money on seats that they never sat in during the entire game! They stood for 4 hours and laughed about it all the way home. It's so hard to believe that I'm coming to stay at your house, and you won't be there. We won't be having coffee at the kitchen table, or talk about world events.
