Dr. Daniel Burdick

Dr Burdick took care of my mother when she was fighting breast cancer during the 1950's. My dad told me that my mother's first surgeon, (not Dr. Burdick), told my Dad she had less than a year to live after performing a radical mastectamy on her. This was when I was an infant. After becoming a patient of Dr. Burdick she was able to live nearly ten more years and it was before chemotherapy had been developed. Almost three score years ago Dan Burdick left a Fathers' Day barbecue to attend to my 2-yr old daughter who had just had a bloody encounter with an iron horse swing at Clark Reservation. Dan did not know me or my family but I was unwilling to depend on a resident to sew up Carol's face. She is 58 now and no sign of the damage. Our famly has always revered Dr. Burdick. A exceptional physician and an even better human being......Dan was a wonderful friend and colleague.

A truly remarkable and wonderful person, he will be sorely missed, but he has left a wonderful legacy and this should be a time to celebrate his life and achievements.

I worked for Dr. Burdick for a number of years and he was a kind and compassionate man and a wonderful employer. He was supportive and trusting. I remember his love for the Syracuse Symphony and his love of art. He was a wonderful man. My sympathy to his family members.
