I'll say about Mr. Burroughs what every teacher would like to hear: He made a difference in my life. He was my History teacher at Slauson in the early 80s. A gentle man who made history come alive. Knowledgeable, warm, encouraging. An all around great guy. I was able to reconnect with him a few years ago. It felt good to let him know how much he meant to me. I send my deepest condolences to his family.

Mr Burroughs was my teacher at Slauson Junior High and made a great impact! I enjoyed his social studies class and still read the news and love history to this day. Sincere condolences to the family.

My sincere condolences on Dans passing, I was a staff member with Dan at Slauson teaching Art and American History and as a active AAEA member. Dan was a model Golden Bear and one of the staff members who helped make Slauson the great school it was. So sorry to learn of Dan´s passing. He was a great guy. I worked with him at Pioneer, he was my son´s teacher and he was a swim parent. We spent some time together. In all settings he was a plus! Condolences to his family. I know you have memories of Dan to comfort you.

I was fortunate enough to know Dan and always knew what a special one of a kind person he was. I am so grateful that I was blessed to count He and Adrienne as friends. He will be greatly missed.

Mr. Burroughs was my social studies teacher at Slauson. He was an amazing teacher. I specifically remember the current events discussions he led-he really engaged us in the world and treated each student with so much respect. He had a huge impact on my lifelong love of history. Dan was an outstanding teacher and a man of integrity. His enthusiasm and optimism were hallmark trademarks of how he looked at and lived life. He brought a kind of cheerful buoyancy to those he worked with at Slauson. Dan cared deeply that all students learn well and he taught to that end. He was interested in so many things and was a fine example of a lifelong learner. My deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to his family, that he loved well.
