Dances with Dan. Meet Dan in junior high at Washington School. Saw him at parties and the skating rink. Dan was my sweetheart during high school - lots of dances. Oh, my goodness, he always let me drive his car (or rather his parents' car) - one time they saw us while I was driving - oh dear. I have a letter Dan wrote me saved in my top desk drawer at work. Right now I am too sad to read it again. What a wonderful fellow. Heidi Bernhart Allen

Throughout much of the 1980s, I worked at a westside neighborhood store in Ann Arbor called Wolverine Liquor and Deli. Dan was a regular customer. I was saddened to read here about his passing. I enjoyed talking with him. I remember him telling me about his work at Maxey. I also remember him talking some about cycling and speed skating. As I remember him now, he was the kind of guy you looked at and thought, 'why isn't this guy in the movies?' He certainly had the matinee good lucks for that...
