Not sure what to say?

I just learned of Dr. Caplan's death after finding his business card among some items. He was a blessing to our family, working tirelessley to determine what was making our your son sick. He was gentle, caring and thought of everything when he told us of the diagnosis of a rare blood disease. He came the day our son passed at Eggleston to be with us. He and Connie were always there with answers and support. Thank you and we have lost a great man.

I'm just finding out about Dr. Caplan. My daughters were patients at the CG Clinic. My oldest daughter is a Traveling RN . She has collected turtles from various places to give to him. We came by the CF clinic a few years ago to surprise him and give him the turtles, but he was not there. We loved him and he was a dedicated doctor who loved his patients and his work. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear of Dr Caplan´s passing. I credit him for literally saving my young son´s life 40 years ago while he was a patient at Egleston. He was his physician for many years treating his Crohns Disease. He and his entire team and hospital staff were so kind to my son and helped me tremendously navigate the healthcare challenges he faced and still faces to this day. He is greatly missed.

I am just now finding out about his passing. Dr. Turtle(Caplan) was such a vital piece of my childhood. He was my doctor for 10 years(until I was undiagnosed with CF(long story)). He took care of me and my family during those years. I still think about him even 14 years after I was his patient. My condolences to his family.

I am just now learning of Dr. Caplan's passing. I am sitting here at work almost in tears. He was my doctor for 12 years. Dr. Caplan was more than a doctor for me, he was like a grandfather to me. The kindest, most gentle, caring doctor I have ever had. I will never forget him and still remember the things he taught me. My dad and I always enjoyed our time with him. He made going to the doctor much easier and less scary. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. I am very...

Dr Caplan was my Dr for 10 years. I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease at 14 and was privileged to have him as my Dr. I truly believe that without him I would not be.here. At 14 he treated me as an adult, he took great length to make sure I understood about my disease. He will be greatly missed

It is with profound sadness Im reading of Dr. Dan Caplans passing. My deepest condolences to Connie, his family, and his numerous colleagues and friends at Emory. Dan was a rare physician excellent and dedicated, yet so caring, compassionate, accessible and generous with enlightening and advising, both to his patients and colleagues. I am a Registered Dietitian who worked with many of his CF patients as well as FTT, and other children who needed nutrition support. He was an excellent medical...
