Not sure what to say?

Danalee, Leon, and Family, Today, your names crossed my mind while I waited between flights in DC. I decided to Goggle Leon (my godfather :) It has been an enormous amount of years, and sadly found the shocking news of Dan's passing. As I scroll through the kind, genuine words of heartache from his friends and colleagues, I see he and I lived in LA at the same time and perhaps may have been in the same circle of friends a couple times removed. Regardless, I am so sorry to hear of...

Someone generously reached out and communicated the situation leading up to Dan's death. I was a small part of Dan's life but he was a big part of mine. I miss my friend.
I have a sizeable stash of fun pictures; I'll pull them out soon and share. Feel free to keep in touch.

I'm sick after reading this news. My heart goes out to the Capone family. I met Dan in Venice Beach when we bartended together at the Roosterfish. Dan was an amazing person who taught me a great deal - chiefly how to multitask! He had such a drive for life. Inspiring. We traveled to Europe, loved each other and enjoyed a tight friendship. Like others, we lost touch when he moved to Atlanta and I moved to San Francisco. Would someone contact me with news? I'm curious what happened! I feel...

I am crushed. Dan was a friend of mine from Clarkson. I've periodically searched for him.....somewhat expected him to turn up on Facebook....last time I saw him was when appeared on Jeopardy years ago. Before that at my wedding. He was such a great person and we enjoyed 4 great years together at Clarkson. Only the good......

Oh Dan...it had been so long since I'd seen you and I never knew. My heart is a bit broken tonight. You were always so sweet and wonderful to me and everyone who knew you. I hope you knew you were loved...

Last week was the annual meteorite shower that lights up the sky every August. Once again, I was reminded of the night in August of 2003 when we watched those same meteorites light up the Los Angeles night sky together. No matter how old I get, I will always think of you when I see those shooting stars. They remind me of you because you were like them. Bright, beautiful and gone too soon.

miss you

There's something incredibly ironic about the fact that today was the day I decided, again, after many attempts in the last 8 years, to find Dan. It's obviously been more than 12 months since my last Google search. How sad I am to find this result.

Dan was a dear friend and, over the years, I've regretted letting our friendship slip away. So, occasionally, I'd try to find him - thinking that we'd reconnect somehow, someday. I never doubted that I'd talk to him again and catch up...
