Central Falls – Daniel O. Carpenter, Sr., 63, of Cross Street died Sunday, September 15 at Miriam Hospital, Providence. He was the husband of Gracia (LaFrance) Carpenter.

Born in Cumberland, a son of the late Russell and Rose (Chestnut) Carpenter, he had lived in Pawtucket before moving to Central Falls in 1979.

Mr. Carpenter was a painter for the former Old Colony Co-Operative Bank, Providence for 14 years, retiring in 1996. Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters, Christine Magnotta of Peacedale and Jennifer Campbell of Cumberland; 2 sons, Daniel O. Carpenter, Jr. of Johnston and Steven R. Carpenter of Foster; 2 sisters, Constance Smith of Seekonk, Massachusetts and Beverly Bannon of Cumberland; 2 brothers, Russell Carpenter of Cumberland and Kenneth Carpenter of Warwick; 3 grandchildren, Rebecca Magnotta of Peacedale, Elizabeth and Jordan Carpenter, both of Johnston; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 18 at 1:30 P.M. at the Bellows-Falso Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Pawtucket.
