DAN AND JACK WERE CLOSE FRIENDS----I ENJOYED THE RELATIONSHIP WITH DAN AND MARTI----WE WERE BLESSED!!!

We will never forget Dan. Who could? With his boisterous laugh and his twinkling eyes, his love for mankind and the joy he brought to people just by being himself. The memories of Dan are many, but the two that stick out the most are how Dan participated in the lives of the kids in the neighborhood. They got a charge out of seeing Dan dressed as a bumble bee when he hosted the annual Halloween cookout before trick or treating. They thought it was great that Dan and Marti would have a 'weenie...

Our dearest Martha, Jennifer, Kass, Ava & the Buller's.

How we ALL miss Dan! All of us in our own special ways, because he was so special to each of us.

To our beautiful Ava & Kass who didn't have the years to know Dan, but need to know how much he LOVED you both & was so excited to know each of you even better everyday.

Our Children & Grandchildren LOVED Grandpa Dan! LOVED the "vajallas" he gave, the conversations he had, the "bear" hugs he gave & his hearty,...

Family, it was a privilege to have been included in Dan’s life. I joked that he was the only railroad baron that I knew who actually was old enough to have been there when they drove in the golden spike, joining the west to the east! Dan was a modern day renaissance man who had developed many skills and excelled at all of them. His council and wisdom was appreciated by all, his listening ear was welcome in this world of haste and noise. His skill as a musician was an outstanding gift, made...

Dear Marti and family,
Dan was a special friend, who was always their, who would go the extra mile with you. We had many great conversations about everything, we agreed to disagreed, but it never got in the way of our friendship. He was an active listener, but always had a question too. Always exploring new ideas to challenge you, he had a great interest in many things, especially church theology and the theology of life. We gathered as a group every Tuesday morning and a chair is empty...

We loved Dan. He was kind, generous, funny, and passionate about life. Ben and Sam were saddened by the loss of Grandpa Dan, and our heart ached for Marti, Jen, Ava, Kim, James, David, and everybody else whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace, and may his family find peace in the joy his life brought.

I remember having lunch with Marti and Dan in Mpls. with my sister Cynthia just after we had all connected in San Francisco after the birth of their granddaughter Ava. I remember thinking Dan was so generous with his time and energy, letting us ladies gab away while he stayed engaged and contributed in the rare pauses in conversation. I can see how he enriched the lives he touched and I am honored to have spent time with him recently.

Dan was a truly fine gentleman. His faith and his compassion and his love for his family and friends will be long remembered. We are sure he rests now in God's Hands.
