Not sure what to say?

Dan was an enjoyable colleague on the AARP volunteer advocates committee, where I got to know him over the last several years. He tackled the topics which gave the rest of us the shivers, like taxes and finance, utilities and legislative process. He approached our volunteer advocacy and occasional legislative testimony with an excellent sense of humor and balance. We all enjoyed being a part of the committee with him and know that his contributions helped our citizens and the state.

A wonderful man with a great family. We are so blessed to be a part of the Chapman family for so many years. Our love, Brian and Luann Lamothe

One of my heroes, always!

It was my pleasure to be friends with Dan and Fran. I was their travel agent. Having lived in Denver many years, I helped Dan and Fran make their travel dreams come true. Dan and Fran once accompanied myself and my wife on a cruise to the Caribbean. We had such a wonderful time. I will remember Dan and Fran during those happier times. My wife and I did visit Dan and Fran twice in the last five years. Its a little harder since we moved to Asheville, NC 15 years ago. But I always stayed in...

To Doug, Dawn ... All of Dan's family...I am so sorry to learn of your loss and sadness. May fond and loving memories help sustain you all as you embrace your grief and find gentle calm again.

Deepest sympathy to Lorraine and all the Chapman family,We grew up with the Chapman family and lived on Sachem Plains Road. I always remember Danny as a great kid and we were a family of six,so we played with all the Chapman's and waited at the bus stop with them, Our favorite game was Hop Scotch. Please know that our hearts are with all the family at this time. Danny''s lBeautiful light will shine on in all that knew him.

I am honored to have known Dan for over 15 years. We started out on a professional level, me as his personal trainer, him as trainee and almost immediately became lasting friends. He was always so driven and focused even when he was diagnosed with ALS, he knew he would beat it and we worked together almost until the end. I will always cherish our healthy debates about Baseball, Woman's College basketball and anything pertaining to Boston. He was a intelligent, remarkable man and I will miss...

I did't know him well, but I remember his awesome sense of humor when he made the toast at Terri and Doug's wedding. So sad for this terrible loss. God bless and comfort the family.

Dan was an amazing person. I feel honored to have known him. He gave a lot to the state and everyone who knew him was a better person for it. My thoughts are with Fran and the rest of the family.
