Not sure what to say?

Dan always had a smile on his face and it was so nice to see him bring his beloved wife to many work functions before she passed. He will be missed by many and we wish his family the very best.

To the family of Daniel Collar, I was there, at Squaw Valley, the day of his passing. A friend and I were walking behind him as we left the slopes. We commented on how cute he looked and as we walked by him to our car, we shared a few words and a smile. We could tell that he was all the wonderful things that were written about him in the paper. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Diane,
We only see each other at high school reunions and have great memories of our high school days. I was so sorry to read of your Dad's death, as I am finding this cycle of life very difficult, losing such wonderful and loving parents. It sounds like he was able to enjoy his life totally up until the very end. How very thankful you must be for that. My deepest sympathy to you and your family.

Dear Family & Friends of "Duke",
My name is Deena. I assisted in giving "Duke" CPR at Squaw Valley. I just wanted to let you all know that moments before I shared a smile and laugh with him. My friend and I were walking behind him commenting on how cute of a shuffle he had and how wonderful it would be to be his age and to have just skied on what was one of the most beautiful ski days ever! As we passed him, we turned and gave him a smile and he quickly smiled back and said, "this is...

I remember your Dad being so full of happiness at the party you girls put together for your Mom and Dads anniversary at Timberlake. I saw the love, and pride he had in his eyes as he danced with each of his daughters, and I saw the deep love he shared with his beautiful wife Barbara. That love goes on and they are together now as they embrace and watch over there family that carries on their legacy. Love to each of you as your hearts grieve this day....

I had the honor of being Dan Collar's Supervisor at The Sacramento Bee. Dan was a joy to work with and allways the professional. I enjoyed learning from Dan's many experiences which he shared with me in the form of stories. I will miss Dan. I am truly grateful for having experienced the joy of knowing him.

Dear Diane, Debbie, Judy, Jill and families,
We are SO sad to hear about Duke. What a shock to hear the news. He will rest in peace with Babe. They will watch over all of you with pride.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Love to all,
Debbie & Tom
