Not sure what to say?

I knew Dan and his family from his days in St. Mary's, PA. My father, Ted Mastrogiacomo, was Dan's football coach for his last year of high school. Dan was always a very friendly and great guy whenever he visited St. Mary's even after he became a famous football player. His whole family was wonderful. My sympathy to his family. He was a great guy!

I worked for Dan Conners at his business, "Bull's Tavern". I talked with him most days. When he was drafted by the Chicago Bears and the Oakland Raiders he told me he decided to join the Oakland Raiders because they offered him $2000 more as a signing bonus than the Chicago Bears. I traded him some Oakland Raiders team photos that were only given to staff and players each for work I did for him and I still have these team photos.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

We love you Dan. So grateful to have known you and live in your presence. A true American hero. You have been a great mentor and father figure Nathan and I are grateful to have been in your life and will miss you daily.

Dan will be missed my very many people. He touched everyone he meet and instantly became your friend. I enjoyed every minute we had together. I will always have those special memories of our conversation. Our prayers and deepest sympathies are with you and your family.

I met Dan once in St. Marys when I was probably 6 or 7 years old. He was the most muscular guy I had ever seen and played for the Oakland Raiders. I didn't even know what an Oakland Raider was at that age, but I knew I liked whatever they were and from then on have been a fan of the Silver and Black through good times and bad.

I extend my condolences to his family with hopes that the void that is left with his passing is filled with many wonderful memories of good times together. RIP #55

The University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame is saddened to learn of the passing of our member, Dan Conners. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, teammates and all those who were touched by his life.

Being 13 years his senior, I followed Dan's life from the Railroad Car eatery that his father owned and for whom I worked. He and his brother used to visit there while I was on duty.

During his college years and thru his professional playing I and all of St Marys were proud of him. He spent several early years here in his home town working for Speer Carbon
Company during the off-season.

Dan and the Oakland Raiders presented a golden football to his High School...

We are so sorry for your loss. We had lots of
great memories with Dan. He will be missed.

Love,
The Morgan Family
