Not sure what to say?

It has been since 2007 that we lost you to cancer. Life has gone on but now you have Donna with you. I have missed yours and Donna's phone calls, and your visits on the holidays. Melissa and I talk weekly and talk of all the memories of the four of us spending Christmas and holidays together when we were young. Lots of good memories! Miss you and Donna so much.

Daniel, it has been many years without you. I walk by your picture on my dresser every day, and since I lost Donna year (2021), it has been very lonely without you two. I miss you both so very much, I hope to see both of you one day.

Well brother it has been a year without you. I think of you and miss you each and every day. Even if you were far away I knew you were there watching over us girls. I could just call you and here your voice. . . .I miss that. Even we had out differences you were still there . . . .I miss you so much. I am glad you aren't suffering and I hope you are still around watching over me. I know you are at peace but being the selfish little sister that I am wish you were still here with us.

Well Dan, the long steep trail came to an end. You will be remembered as a fascinating writer, a good friend, and fellow Scouter. Dan was also known to many in the American Legion as Post 99’s “Morale Officer” for his incisive criticism.
Troop 353 had an Eagle Court of Honor at Loma Prieta Elementary Forum in the Santa Cruz mountains. I called the Scoutmaster and we invited Dan to visit the Eagle Court of Honor. He had forgotten that there was a portion of the program called the Eagle's...

Uncle Cooky - I'm glad you aren't suffering any more. You fought a long hard and courageous battle with your cancer to the very end.
I always enjoyed your visits to Indianapolis and wish I could have known you better.
I love you my uncle. Your nephew Duane

Cooky, I love you very much and will always remember your calling me "Brat". I'll treasure the memory of you taking me to see the Beach Boys.
I'll always remember when we talked on the phone how you acted like you didn't like cats but you always had Dixie, the neighbor's cat, on your lap. I enjoyed our many phone conversations.
When you had your recent fights with cancer, you told me that you believed in Jesus. I'm glad you are no longer suffering.
I'll always love you and miss you....

Dan was a very special guy. He was good at everything he did, and he did a lot of good things. We'll remember him best as a fine journalist and a brave soldier, brave to the end.

Dan was a bright man, a talented chef and a unique personality. I have many fond memories of his Sunday epicurean feasts that he prepared in my home for "the gang." I soon found out that the way to keep "Chef Dan" happy while whipping up his Sunday fare, was to ply him with wine and play some good ol' Rock 'N Roll music! He would don his big Chef's hat, put on his apron du jour, pick up a big wooden spoon, pour a glass of wine and proceed to teach us new salty words in either French,...

Dan Cook's passing: the loss of yet another Legion member. It's with sadness and sorrow that all of us at Post 99 mourn the loss of Dan Cook. Dan served as our Adjutant, Executive Board Member and Public Relations Officer over the past several years.

Dan struggled with Cancer for a very long time and went through many treatments of chemotherapy resulting in disabilities that limited his quality of life. Dan’s quality of life was so important to him and he had such a time...
