Read MoreI just learned through ancestory.com that Daniel and I were distant cousins. Reading his story brought tears to my eyes. I ache for the loss of someone so young. Yet, he accomplished so much in his time on Earth. Thank you, Daniel, for your dedication to our country. You continued the line of brave military service that is so evident in our family lineage, past and present. Rest in peace.

We spent father's day at Dan's house a few years ago and swam in the pool with the dogs. It was a lovely afternoon. We pray for Dan and for those who mourn his loss.
