Dan was born in Plainfield, NJ and his family moved to Rochester, NY when he was a young boy. In 1975 he received a BS degree in Chemistry from St. John Fisher University.
Dan was President and Technical Director of ESCA Tech, Inc., the company he founded in 1979 in Milwaukee, WI. His business focus was lead and heavy metal contamination control to protect workers and the environment. He consulted with companies to design and implement programs to control exposure to toxic dust and ensure safe hygiene practices.
Dan was an innovator in this field and developed a line of D-Lead® skin, surface, and laundry cleaning products and lead test kits. He frequently presented research papers at industry related conferences all over the world and was called upon by many industries internationally for his expertise.
True to his Irish heritage, Dan enjoyed embellishing a story, had a dry sense of humor, and was always ready with a joke. He loved to travel and had a keen interest in maps. He and Zsuzsanna spent countless hours researching and detailing the family history and genealogy. Dan also enjoyed his annual Sturgeon ice fishing trip with friends and watching the Green Bay Packers.
During this difficult time, the family is mourning Dan in private.
