Daniel "Danny" P. Simmons

Attica - Daniel “Danny” Powell Simmons, 58, Attica, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 7:01 p.m. in the I.U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette following an illness with cancer.
Danny was born in Lafayette, Indiana on September 24, 1964. He was the son of Delbert P. Simmons of Attica and the late Beverly S. (Best) Simmons. Danny was a life resident of Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1982. He worked in castings for C & D Battery in Attica for the past 28 years.
Following graduation from high school, Danny enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1982 until his honorable discharge in 1989.  At the time of his discharge he had attained the rank of Sergeant.
Danny was a member of the V.F.W. Post # 3318 of Attica, serving as Quartermaster. He was a member of the Moose Lodge # 1482 of Attica. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping. He like to play golf with his son Dalton. He was an avid I.U. sports fan and a Pittsburgh Steeler fan.
Danny was first married to Missy Voorhees and they were together for 14 years. He later married Tiffany S. Jordan on June 17, 2021 in Attica.
He leaves behind his wife, Tiffany along with two children, Chauncie (Clint) Pepmeier, Avon, IN; Dalton Simmons, Attica; two step children, Marley Jean and Harley Jordan, both of Attica; his father, Delbert Simmons, of Attica; a brother, Leroy (Sharon Bailey) Simmons, Veedersburg; a sister, Sheila (Landus) Waters, Attica; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly S. Simmons and a nephew, Jacob Simmons.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Thursday, December 1st from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 2nd at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Daniel Jordan officiating. Burial with military honors will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the Simmons family for expenses.
