Not sure what to say?

I was so sorry to hear of the loss of Daniel Deneau. I am a monk at Assumption Abbey in Richardton, ND., where I do Studio Ceramics along with our honorarium of work and prayer. Daniel Deneau stayed in our Guest House a few times and we have fond memories of his stay. We corresponded a little through the years and I still have some photos of his home in Fairhope Alabama.

I'm off to Oxford for a week study of Victorian England inspired by a Victorian Literature course taught by Dr. Deneau 50+ years ago, the most memorable course, most memorable professor of my college career.

That's the kind of teacher he was; that's the kind of influence he had.

We were classmates at St. Joe. Though I lost touch with him afterward, I still remember him as a valued classmate and good friend. Peace, Daniel.

Dr. Deneau was the greatest, most inspirational teacher I ever had. He was the reason I went into university teaching. Throughout my career, I have always asked myself, what would Dr. Deneau do? I had the good fortune of staying in touch with him over the years, visiting him many times and also traveling with him to Europe. I left an amazing legacy of inspired students.

Dr deneau will be dearly missed.

Dr. Deneau was an amazing teacher, and a huge influence on my life. I couldn't possibly think more highly of him. Although we were long out of touch, I hope he knew what an impact he made on students' lives.

I was blessed to have known him and cared for him at The Blake. He had a brilliant mind. Rest in Peace Dr. Deneau!

I'm sorry for the loss of Mr. Deneau. May the God of all comfort provide strength during this difficult time.

An inspirational teacher who asked for your best. A carer of foxes and flowers. May he rest in peace.
