Dear Sally and family,
I am so saddened to hear of your loss and hold you and yours in my heart during this time of grief. It takes a very special partner to support a midwife in her life and work and so I am all the more grateful for Daniel's presence in our community. And, I am thankful and for his and your many contributions to Seattle Midiwifery School as well as the encouragement and gentle teaching you have provided many, many doulas who have had the joy of joining you in the birth...

I played in same co-ed softball chruch league as Dan and he was always a great example as to what our league stood for - fun and good faith. Win or lose he kept the spirit of what our league is about to heart. He will be missed.

I worked for Dan for four years at Salmon Bay Design Group.
My first day at work Dan and the gang belittled me for wearing a tie.
Dan was different! He was a nice guy with a few quirks. One was he liked to talk, and talk.
He understood things to a deeper level of detail then I or most people would care about.
But you would always come away with a
deeper if not clearer understanding of the subject.
We occasionally played softball at lunch during the summers....

Dan was a deeply treasured member of our congregation at Faith Lutheran, and will be missed by so many of us, especially the Sunday School students under his care. He was so enthusiastic, supportive and always ready to help out with a project, no matter how many hours it took! We will have him always in mind as we view the many pieces he constructed for our congregation's use, and especially the platforms he built so that we could more easily see our Sunday School students during their...
