Phil said most of my thoughts as I sit here in western south dakota with tears in my eyes for the man that helped me through some tough times as a kid, like him and Barb did with so many kids !! As kids we always looked forward to our Sunday visits or any visit with the Dykstra's,I always looked up to Dave as a farmer and as the best dozer man there is !! Community was always tops for Dave as proven by they're tremendous support of the 4-H kids !! They were with us when we lost Linda, which...

Dave was one of the kindest most generous man I ever knew. Our families farmed back and forth over the years- his dad Henry did several dozing jobs for us and his son Rob (along with his wife and extended family) are the best friends my wife and I could ask for !! Always there when we have needed a helping hand. When we lost our son Travis it was Dave who came to our home and sat with us and gave us the best advice on how to handle such a loss because he and Barb had been through the same...
