Daniel Flaherty Obituary

Daniel Moore Flaherty

Deceased March 22, 2016

On March 22, 2016, Daniel Moore Flaherty passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. A native San Franciscan, born and raised in the Mission Dolores Parish, the son of Daniel and Mary Flaherty, loving brother to Eileen Parrish (predeceased), Jim Flaherty and Geri Flaherty.

On St. Patrick's Day, 1967, Dan met the love of his life, Carolyn Redahan...and their love story began. There is nothing Dan cherished more than family. Dan was at his happiest in a room full of family and laughter.

Dan did love his Giants too and he relished in their three World Championships. In true stubborn Irish fashion, he stuck around until the Warriors were champions too.

In addition to his loving wife of 48 years, Carolyn, Dan is survived by his brother-in-law Bryan Redahan (Jolinda), sisters-in-law Shirley Overend and Maureen Keating.
His children Patrick (Theressa) and Denise (Scott), his beloved grand-children Nicholas and Amanda Fabbri and many neices and nephews, as well as grand-neices and grand-nephews.

Whenever you watch a Giant's game, think of Dan, and know he'll be watching too...from his "spot" behind home.

A memorial mass will be held for "Danny Boy" on April 2nd, 2016 at 1130am at Our Lady of Loretto Church, 1806 Novato Blvd, Novato. Reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to The Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco, Attn: Columbia Park. It held a special place in Dan's heart.

Mrs. Flaherty I want to pass on my sincere condolences. Dan (and yourself) were always very kind to me and he was a very nice man. He was always ready to make a joke and get everyone laughing. During my time living in the cottage I was able to observe the real love you and Dan had for each other. It made me think if I got married I hope to have that same connection. Take care......Love Aaron Pino
