DANIEL M. FRIEDENBERG

Daniel Friedenberg was a good friend, who introduced me to many wonders in New York. We met in the early '80s when he was a guest in my little guest house in NW Portland. He was always generous with his time whenever I saw him. His knowledge of art was incredible and his kindness never ending.
I treasure our 30 years of lively correspondence, his advice which accompanied those letters, his encouragement and the times we spent together as good old friends.

Dan Friedenberg, dedicated family man, faithful Jew, astute investor, generous philanthropist, passionate collector, indefatigable researcher, poet, essayist and pathbreaking author, was a mentor and loyal friend to me for more than fourty years; I will miss his presence and his encouragement.
