Not sure what to say?

Mr. Ganeles was such a beloved teacher at the Milne School! His memory will always be treasured by his students!

Dan Ganeles' enthusiasm for life wasn't lost on any of us at Milne in the 60's. He was the kind of teacher whose lessons linger long into the lives of those he touched. It felt good to shake his hand and see his smile again after so long, when he reconnected with the class of '64 two summers ago. Glad I finally had a chance to say thanks Mr. G. Godspeed...

We will miss our dear "golfing buddy." Our hearts and prayers go out to his family.

Dan Ganeles was my camp counselor at Camp Nassau as well as my teacher at Milne. In 1964 he ran for political office in Albany and I, along with other Milnites, went door to door campaigning for him. He was a great teacher and a great person. I was so glad that, not only did he come to our '64 class reunion, but that I had the chance to shake his hand and say "thank you for a good education." He will be greatly missed.

I was struck by Dan's nephew's remark: "He never got old, just suddenly wasn't there." With the rest of the Milne class of 1964, I was honored and thrilled to have Dan attend our 40th reunion. Somehow we had caught up to him in age, or he had simply stopped aging. He demonstrated during that lively weekend the great sense of humor and giving spirit that I remember his sharing with us in school, and I'll never forget him.

Dan was my Hebrew teacher, my Dakota camp counselor and school bus driver at Camp Nassau, and my history teacher at Milne. He made a huge difference in my growth. His memory will live in my heart

I am one of Mr. Ganeles's Milne students, Class of '65. He was one of the best. He made school fun which is what all educators strive to do and touched so many lives. You have my sincere sympathy.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Mr. Ganeles' passing. He was an amazing educator and friend to his students. He provided the role model that all students should have from their teachers. I was thrilled to spend time chatting with him at the Milne Class of 1964's 40th reunion.

I shall always cherish my memories of this man. There is one brighter star in the heavens now. May he rest in peace!

Dan, i worked at camp nassau with your dad. you and your sister were my "campers". he was a great guy and he will be missed. my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Bruce Atkin
