Dear Doodie and sons,
I just learned of "Dockie's" passing last evening when I stopped in Scully's, I am so sorry.
I had the wonderful opportunity of having "Dockie" as my orthodontist ! What a wonderful and caring man, always kind words. My children also had the opportunity of getting beautiful smiles from him. My daughter was a thumb sucker and Dockie had her make up a chart when she was 6 yrs old.
I fondly remember going back there when she was in high school to say hello...

About 10 years ago I started helping my mother at the family business, Muellers Store. Dr. Genthner would come in daily to buy his newspapers and talk the talk (Long Island) with my mom. They had a common ground. Shortly thereafter I was up on your riding mower in the orchard and large lawn, always admiring what a lovely place you had made for your lives. Please accept my sincere condolences at this time. Life gives you opportunity and Dr. Genthner took advantage of it. What an...

I too am sad to read of the passing of this kind man. I was his patient in the 60s, and many years later ran into him at a Lafayette basketball game. He remembered me, and said, "Let me take a look at your teeth... OPEN!" And he admired his fine work. Indeed, a good man!

Mrs. G.,
What a kind and gentle soul. I think he straightened all of my sister's teeth as well as mine but we always looked forward to our appointments and the warm smile that greeted our arrivals. No matter how many patients were waiting, he always took the time to ask about my parents - Howard and Shirley or my sisters and their activities, sporting competitions, etc.
He touched many with his kindness. May the fond memories you have serve as a comfort in the days ahead.

Dear Genthner family, Dr. Genthner was a credit to his profession. He really cared about his patients and was not doing his job just for money. I was a patient of his through my 5th - 7th year of school. My oldest son was lucky to have his services before he retired in 1997. He was a kind and caring man and I am so sorry for your great loss. In 6th grade I had to do a term paper and I chose to do it on orthodontics. Dr Genthner was more than happy to assist me with pamphlets and other...
