Not sure what to say?

I knew Danny years ago when we both were members of the Olneyville Boys' Club and practiced together as well as attended swim meets all over RI and New England. I had not seen Danny for years and we reconnected about twenty years ago at Our Lady of Peace Retreat Center in Narragansett. From then on we attended many spiritual meetings and retreats together. Danny was always filled with insight into others problems and always had the most comforting and uplifting words when one needed a friend....

Dan and I worked together at Talbot House when I first moved to RI in 1978 and somehow never lost touch over the years. He was a special person, kind, generous, funny. The world is a smaller place with his passing.

Dan was a wonderful addition to our "Acting Up, Acting Out" senior drama program. As the narrator in our musical review and our precious Willaby in "Ladies at Poker", we treasured every minute we had with Dan. I had purchased a book for my dad-unfortunately he passed before I gave it to him. Instead I gave it to Dan. His upbeat attitude, his love of cats, the arts and music...I will miss him terribly and I am confident that our group shares my sentiments.

At various times in the 20 plus years I knew Dan he touch my heart, mind, and spirit. He assisted me in coming into harmony with others through his kind and gentle ways and lead by example in that regard. On a retreat at OLP with Fr. Daniel Barrigan Dan helped me bridge a wide chasm with another human and see how much alike we really were, how much we shared in common. Dan changed my life time and time again by suggesting possibilities which had not been in my nature to entertain. He never...

dan gooden was a part of my extended family. i was fortunate to socialize with him on numerous occasions. he was never anything less than a fine gentleman and gracious human being. he could easily inspire one to try to be a better self; and this done without any noted effort on his part. he was always genuine. i will miss him.

Uncle Dan...one of the kindest and wisest people I have ever known. We shared frequent phone conversations when I was experiencing a particularly difficult time, and his clear insight always left me feeling as if some of the burden had been lifted. He left this earth a far better place for having been born.
My love,
Marilyn, Warwick, RI

Dan is a fellow Rhode Island Prime Timer. I will miss seeing him at our meetings and functions. My prayers are with him and his family.

one of Uncle Dan's favorite passages..

ANYWAY

People are unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and true enemies.
Be successful anyway.

The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow.
Be good anyway.

Honesty and frankness will make you...

As relatives of Jerry's, we got to enjoy holidays together, great conversations, and lots of laughs. Dan will be sorely missed. Condolences to all his family members.
