Dear Renee and Family,
We were so sorry to hear of Dan's passing. While I didn't know him very well, both of my parents spoke of him in the highest regards. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this diffucult time.

I am terribly saddened at the death of my friend Danny Groth. Dan was a dear friend for 35 years who had my utmost respect. He was a Sgt.of mine as a young policeman in the 18th District. He took me under his protective wing. Dan was a man of courage and integrity and was very instrumental in my life. He never forgot his friends. I shall never forget him. My prayers are with him and his family. Al Scarnavack, former Chicago Police Officer and Assistant States Attorney.

My deepest condolences to the Family and friends of Sgt. Daniel Groth. Danny was a fine dedicated Police Officer who respected the citizens of Chicago but loved his fellow Officers.
