My sincere condolences to the Gruener family for their loss. I coached Danny when he was on the Margaret Buerkle Middle School basketball team in the Mehlville School District with my son, Matt. He always had a smile on his face. He was easy to coach and a great kid. So sorry for your loss.

I only met Dan once, but know and work with many who knew him well. He was a fine paramedic and a fine man. He'll be missed. Dan made a real difference in the lives of a lot of people, some of whom didn't even know his name. That's a rare thing.
