Not sure what to say?

Shop class was one of the classes I would look forward to. He was a fun teacher .

Many fond memories

My condolences to Dan's family. When I think of Dan I think of a straight laced man with a rebellious streak. I remember golfing at Ely Park, trout fishing at Quaker Lake, golfing in Ocean City and golfing with Dan and his dad in Florida. I have never seen anyone make so many crazy long breaking putts and putts from off the green. I remember Sportsman's, Mozart Street, the AOH, #19 at Ely and driving around the West Side and Dan pointing out all the wood family name signs that he helped...

My condolences to the entire Haggerty family.

Mr. Haggerty taught me the basics of woodworking at West Jr. which I retain to this very day. His soft spoken demeanor and willingness to help anyone burned him into my memory as one of the finest teachers I had while growing up.

Mr. Haggerty, I raise this toast to you sir as a shining example of a kind teacher, a true gentleman and one of the finest human beings Ive ever known !

Kathleen, what a great tribute to your father! I am so sorry for your loss.

I could write a book about Dan. Dan and I attended BTCC at the same time as Pre-Tech students in 1960. What was Pre-Tech? Those of us that scored really high on aptipute tests ( now called STEM aptitude ) but didn't have the best high school grades. So we had a catch up year. I as I said I have a book worth of stories about Dan. This is one of them. In our engineering design class we had to draw isometric , 3 D, cross sectioned drawing of an object. Well Dan picked it up right away. We...

I fondly remember my shop classes at West Junior. He was certainly one of the best teachers that I had over the years.

Taught me everything about Life! One of My Favorite Instructors and Beyond MyDeepest Sympathy Frank and Donna Monico... My Hero !!

Mr Haggerty was a great shop teacher from an era long gone. We all learned a few skill sets that we use to this day. I'll never forget watching him try to light a cigarette with a soldering gun in the small store room off to the side of the shop. Rest easy Mr Haggerty.
