to dannys extended family:I did not attend your rememberance but I do remember you, as a kid at aunt Lulas place down the road from granmaw pollets house in lutcher I recall it was a labor day weekend celebration before the dreaded 'back to school" horror, my dad had brought his 12 gauge shotgun, which by the way survived Katrina in his 5 ft. flood home, and blasted a few holes in an old heavy metal can, granny made a delicious coconut high-rise cake, and I had caught what i belived to be the neatest frog critter in the world, only to have you somehow manage to wrestle it from my grip and to my dismay have it escape, funny how "big" things to kids become a backdrop for us as adults and why such small events make ones memory, but then life is a recorded 'one-of-a kind' event that we are all participant in,in small ways we all share the joys of each others life, and for that life lived we are all thankful, in whatever measure, for being a part of yours, in spirit, continue to bless all your loved ones to follow, one of your many cousins shelton

Dear Jerri, Jeff and Stacy:
While our hearts break for the three of you now, I know with time each of you will find much comfort in knowing how very much Danny loved each of you. You three were his world, and I know I don't need to tell you how very proud he was of each of you.
As you said on the phone, Jerri, there are so many wonderful memories. Danny was just that one-of-a-kind of man.
Sam and I will miss him, and cherish having been his next door neighbor for 19 1/2 years. And, Sammy will miss his "Mr. Danny" more than you can know. (New Year's Eve on Senac just won't be the same without him and his antics.)
Much love,
The Buas

For many years Danny called on me as a salesman and was one of the hardest working guys you’d ever want to meet. The customer was always his first priority. We became close friends outside of work. Just over a year ago, I became a co-worker as well. Unfortunately, much of our time together as co-workers was during his battle with this terrible disease, but even to the end his concern was more about the customers than his own well being. Danny enjoyed life and was exceptional at soaking it in whether having a cold one with friends, tailgating at an L.S.U. game with us, spending time at a NASCAR event or visiting with customers and friends at a crayfish boil. He couldn’t sit still. He had to soak in as much as possible. Oh, he could get on your nerves at times, but you had to love him. I did and I’ll miss him, the many personal jokes we shared and the good times we had together. Hey Danny, maybe now you can finally get to see the Grand Canyon from up there. I sure hope so my friend. I sure hope so.
