Not sure what to say?

We wish to express our deepest sympathy in Dan's death. We got to know him when we traveled in Europe
and attended the Passion Play in Oberammergau, Germany in 1980. His father,Dr. Hess, was our tour guide
and our pastor at Ward Church for many years. What wonderful times we had together. Dan added a lot to the group with his quiet wisdom and his keen sense of humor. It was a privilege to have known him and we will pray for his family as you deal with his loss.

Connie and I have appreciated the friendship and advice that Dan was able to give to Camp Michawana and ourselves over the years. He had a great love for camp and a heart to minister to those in need. He always saw the problems as opportunities to help others see Christ. Our prayers are with the family during this time.

We met Dan at Warren Park Presbyterian Church in Cicero, IL when we were all in the youth group. His father, Bartlett Hess, was the pastor at the time. We remember Dan's sweet spirit and gentle nature. He will be missed.

We were unaware of his passing until we read of it in the church bulletin this morning.
We were acquainted with Dan through Kentwood Community Church and he was the brother of our attorney, John. Our prayers go out for his family and friends. He was a nice man.

Dan did not know us but we felt that we knew him well. As long time members of Ward Church, we were aware that his parents were proud of him and spoke of him with great love and admiration.

We were tremendously shocked to hear of Dan's passing. As colleagues on the board of GR Right to Life and on the board of Mel Trotter, Dan was always a friend and a support livng out his devotion to Christ. We will be praying for his family during this difficult time.

I was shocked and surprised to hear of Dan's passing from a friend of his at choir practice this evening. I worked with Dan at his firm a few years ago. He was a great person and fun to work with. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and coworkers.

I was saddened to hear of Dan's passing. I was in a men's Promise Keeper's group with Dan at KCC. He has showed me much kindness and understanding over the years. I will miss him.

We want to extend our sympathy to the Hess Family. We don't know why
things happen, but we do know that God knows, and has His plan for each of us. Dr. Hess and his family have been a large part of the Ward Church Family since 1956. We are remembering your family in our prayers.
