Daniel Hoffman

An example of the kindness that I mentioned in my entry at the time of Dan's death: Back during the 1966-1967 school year at HLS, my third year, I was going through some personal troubles of a romantic nature, and was feeling depressed, etc., and Dan and our mutual friend, Harvard Walthall, my classmate, took me to a Chinese restaurant, I believe Joyce Chen's restaurant in Cambridge. I have many memories of Dan stemming from first getting to know him on Story 4 during 1964-1965 school year. One of the smartest fellows I've known. Kindness doesn't always go with smartness. Dan was kind.
