Daniel Hoffman

1955 - 2025

Daniel Hoffman grew up on an 80-acre dairy farm on SunnySide Boulevard, Route 1 Box 387, surrounded by his loving parents, brother, and sister, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Life on the farm in the 1960s was filled with bicycles, a quarter horse named Cindy, motorcycles, and adventures hunting and fishing with his dad at Ebey Slough.

Dan excelled in sports, especially wrestling and football. After high school, he played one year of football at Wenatchee Valley College on a scholarship, starting every game of the season. He also wrestled at Lower Columbia College, earning a letter after winning most of his matches.

In 1979, Dan met the love of his life, Sue Walker. They married on May 30-Sue's birthday-and shared 45 wonderful years. Their marriage was blessed with one son, Daniel Hoffman, who was truly the light of Dan's life.

Dan coached soccer for many years with his son. He and Sue also opened their hearts and home to several foreign exchange students and later became foster parents, raising many children along the way. Dan's family grew further with three grandchildren, whom he adored with all his heart.

Dan and Sue owned Misty Meadow Nursery, where he dedicated his talents to landscaping, but his greatest joy came each Christmas in helping families find the perfect tree to take home.

Dan's mother, Isabelle Hoffman, precedes him in death. He is survived by his father, Bob Hoffman, and stepmother Evelyn; brother David and Marian Hoffman; sister Kathy and Dave Savage; niece Nicole and Aaron Troyer; nephews Anthony and Andrew Savage; and many extended family members and friends.

The family would especially like to thank his cousin Jim Bowie and close friend Mike Hansen for the support they gave to Dan and his family.

A memorial service will be held at Weller Funeral Home in Arlington on October 10 at 3:00 PM.
